How to get your first 1,000 followers on X
October 15, 2026 · 9 min read

The first 1,000 followers are the hardest. Your posts reach almost nobody, so it can feel like talking to an empty room. The good news is that the path is simple and repeatable: a clear profile, daily replies, a few good posts a week and the patience to keep going. There is no trick, but there is a plan.
The plan at a glance
Each part supports the others. Replies bring people to your profile, your profile convinces them to follow, and your posts give them a reason to stay.

Step 1: fix your profile
When someone likes your reply, they tap your name. You have about three seconds to show them why they should follow. A vague bio and no pinned post lose most of those people.
Write your bio for a stranger: what you do, who it is for, and what you post about. Pin a post that shows your best thinking.

Step 2: reply every day
For small accounts, replies are the main source of new followers. Pick 10 to 20 accounts in your niche, a bit bigger than you, and reply thoughtfully to their posts.
Aim for 5 to 10 replies a day. Each one should add one thing: a detail, a question, a different angle. Quality matters far more than volume.
Tip Add those accounts as VIPs in Quiplos. Their posts get a ★ on the ✦ button, so you never miss a chance to reply early.
Step 3: post a few times a week
You do not need to post every day. Three to five good posts a week is enough at the start. Stick to one or two topics so people know what they get when they follow you.
Good post types for small accounts: a lesson you learned, a number from your work, a short story, a simple how-to, or a question to your audience.
- "I tried X for 30 days. Here is what happened."
- "3 things I wish I knew before Y"
- "We changed one thing and Z went up."
- "Unpopular opinion: ..." (only if you mean it)
- "What is the best tool you use for ...?"
Step 4: talk to people
Answer every reply you get. Follow back people in your niche who interact with you. Join conversations instead of only broadcasting.
The accounts that grow fastest early on usually have real relationships with a few dozen other accounts. Those people share and reply, and that spreads your posts further.

Step 5: review every week
Once a week, look at your best replies and posts. What did they have in common? A number, a question, a strong first line? Do more of that next week.
Quiplos tracks your replies, streaks and best days on your device under Results and Progress, so the weekly review takes a minute.

Common mistakes
- Posting about five different topics, so nobody knows why to follow
- Only posting, never replying
- Replying in big bursts, then disappearing for a week
- Follow-for-follow schemes, which bring followers who never read your posts
- Giving up after two quiet weeks
How long does it take?
It depends on your niche, your consistency and some luck. Some people get there in a few months, others take longer. What almost everyone who gets there has in common is that they kept replying and posting through the slow start.
Frequently asked questions
Should I buy followers to get started?
No. Bought followers do not read or engage, which makes your posts look less popular and can put your account at risk.
Do I need X Premium to grow?
It is not required. Many people grow without it. Good replies and a clear profile matter more.
How many replies a day is too many?
If you are replying so fast that each one is generic, it is too many. Five to ten thoughtful replies is a good range.
Quiplos learns your style and writes three replies under any post on X and LinkedIn. You always pick, edit and post.
